Rockin' Refuge Rangers
A fun, hands on program for kids. Saturdays in the winter months at the Refuge Visitor Center on Big Pine Key! Kids must bring a parent, everything else is mostly free! email [email protected]
FAVOR's Annual Run With Deer 5K run/walk on Big Pine Key will be on a Saturday in March! Proceeds help us continue to expand our kids nature programs.

Clean Ups

Join us for a couple hours on one of our regular environmental clean ups!

Guided Nature Excursions

All walks and bike events are free and meet at National Key Deer Refuge Visitor Center on Big Pine Key at 8 am. If you prefer, meet at trailhead at 8:30. Call Ranger Kristie at 305-304-9625 for details and directions.  All Bike rides are BYO Bike, wear sunscreen, dress for the weather, bring your water and a snack if needed.

An easy evening paddle along the mangrove shoreline on the National Key Deer Refuge. Watch the moon rise in the east as the sun sets!

Key Deer Bookstore

The Key Deer Bookstore offers nature inspired books, toys, and gifts and is located in the Refuge's Visitor Center on Big Pine Key. All our proceeds benefit the Key Deer Refuge. Florida Keys Refuges Photography Club meets  at the refuges' visitor center on the second Wednesday of each month.  Check their facebook page for details and some awe-inspiring fotos!!
